CENTRAL MONTCALM – Hart’s football team dug itself a 38-0 hole from which it could not climb out and lost a 40-16 non-conference game to Central Montcalm in the regular season finale Friday night.
Kolton Rockwell completed 3-of-9 passing for 54 yards with one interception. Hart’s leading rusher was Kyle Greiner, who gained 67 yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown.
Also scoring a touchdown for the Pirates was Keegan Monroe, who finished the game with 52 yards on seven tries. Julian Vasquez added 57 yards on 16 attempts and Rockwell picked up 38 more on four keepers.
Eric Hannan had two receptions for 32 yards and Ty Schlukebir caught one pass for 22 yards.
Greiner led the Pirates defense with eight tackles, one for loss. Alex Hicks had six stops and Boos five.
Hart finished the season 4-5, and likely will not make the playoffs.
Montcalm closed out the regular season with an 8-1 record and now must wait until Sunday to learn its first-round opponent in the playoffs.
