BENZIE – The Hart Pirate girls qualified for the Division 3 cross country state finals after a runner-up finish on Friday in the regional meet.
The Pirates are joining the Hart boys, which also qualified for the finals earlier in the day at Benzie.
On the girls’ side, host Benzie Central won the girls meet with 70 points followed by Hart with 80 and McBain with 103.
Other area teams included Manistee, which finished sixth with 174 points, Mason County Central in ninth with 227 and Shelby in 10th with 249 points.
Lakeview sophomore Kamryn Salladay was the overall winner in 18:20.84. Hart’s best finisher was Natalie Rosema, a sophomore, with an eighth-place finish in 19:38.25.
