In a five-set match, Oakridge edged out by Sparta in non-league volleyball action

MUSKEGON – The Oakridge volleyball team fell in a close five-set battle against Sparta, 18-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-19, 12-15, in a non-conference match on Thursday.

The Eagles’ Avery Willea led the offense with 17 kills, while Gracie Willea added 29 assists and 17 digs. Kaylee Smith had a team-high 20 digs on defense, while Cami Guenthardt made seven blocks.

Oakridge hosts the West Michigan Conference tournament on Saturday.
