SPARTA – The Kent City Eagles’ volleyball team had mixed results on Wednesday in a quad at Sparta.

The Eagles finished 2-1 with victories over host Sparta and Grant. The Eagles dropped a match to Cedar Springs.

Kent City defeated Sparta 22-25, 29-27, 15-12. That was followed by a three-set loss to Cedar Springs, 24-26, 25-23, 15-9. Kent City then capped off the evening with a 25-20, 25-21 victory over Grant.

Cailynn Hartzell had five aces and 53 assists for the Eagles. Laynee Hoffman and Maddy Mitchell each had 20 kills while Kenzy Freeland had 11. Mitchell added five blocks. Kaden Perkins had 56 digs, Alyssa Miller had 44 and Hoffman had 40.

Kent City is now 23-12-3 with district action kicking off next week
