BENZIE – The Mason County Eastern Cardinals’ boys will be running in the Division 4 state cross country finals next week.
The Cardinals won the Division 4 regional crown on Saturday at Benzie Central. MCE finished with 55 points and tied with Maple City Glen Lake, but took the tiebreaker based on a higher finish from its sixth running.
Alex Tyndall led MCE with a first-place finish in 15:48.67. Lance Niedzielski finished seventh and Milo Shoup came in 11th.
Leland finished third and qualified for state. Local entrant Pentwater was eighth with 227 points.
