Mona Shores sweeps by Reeths-Puffer in OK-Green volleyball match

The Mona Shores volleyball squad cruised to a three-set win over Reeths-Puffer by scores of 25-5, 25-17, and 25-14 on Thursday night.

The Sailors were led by Laynie Russell with eight kills and three blocks, while Cece Gappa and Grace Allen each had six kills.

Mona Shores was paced defensively by Izzy Sturtevant with 10 digs while Elena Reister had 10 digs to go along with 16 assists and six aces offensively.

The Sailors are now 23-6 on the season and 4-3 in conference play.

The Rockets were led by Alissa Klopp with eight kills and five digs, while Maddy Dyer had 18 assists and nine digs. Carlee Bowen chipped in with 13 digs.

Reeths Puffer is now 9-17 on the season and 1-6 in league action.

Both teams will be participating in Saturday’s GMAA tournament at Reeths Puffer.
