FENNVILLE – The Muskegon Heights Academy football team held off Fennville, 34-30, to finish the 2024 regular season on Friday.
After being outscored in the first quarter 8-0, the Tigers began to find the end zone and rolled into halftime with a 22-14 lead.
The scoring slowed down after the break, but the first-half lead proved to be the difference in holding off Fennville. The Tigers were outscored 8-6 in each of the last two quarters.
Ja’Marion Taylor was the Tigers’ leading scorer and went for 138 yards on three catches with two touchdowns. Taylor also took an interception back for a 95-yard score.
Quarterback Robert Wallace was 6-for-16 for 241 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Demarion Buchanan added a rushing touchdown and Cartiyah Harris chipped in a receiving touchdown.
Muskegon Heights Academy closed out the season 4-5.
