MUSKEGON – Ryan Gamber needed just one game to ink his name into the Muskegon Voyagers’ record book.
In his first game with the Voyagers, Gamber scored three goals and dished out five assists for a franchise-record eight points in the team’s 15-3 victory over the Detroit Warhawks on Saturday night.
The Michigan Independence Hockey League game was played at Lakeshore Sports Centre.
The rookie right winger, a native of Boulder, Colorado, led the Voyagers’ offensive attack that produced three goals in the opening period and six more in each of the final two periods.
Kevin Belvitch and Jordan Truxton each added a pair of goals for Muskegon. Zack Cuthbertson and Luke McCarthy each had three assists.
In all, 15 Voyager players put their name on the scoresheet with either a goal or an assist.
Other goal scorers for Muskegon included Zack Grover, Zack Cuthbertson, Riley Pitchure, McCarthy, Jon Szczepaniak, Isaiah Huempfner, Andrew Taylor and Joe DeWitt.
Muskegon hits the road for a game in Alpena next Saturday night.
The Voyagers next home game is Nov. 16 against the Waterford Sharks at Lakeshore Sports Centre.
