BYRON CENTER – The Reeths-Puffer Rockets had a rough night on the volleyball court on Tuesday night and lost to Byron Center in three sets.

The Rockets lost 25-11, 25-10, 25-15 in an OK-Green match played at Byron Center.

“Overall, our defense played pretty well, but we could not get in rhythm,” said Reeths-Puffer coach Justin Birr. “Credit to Byron Center and their coaching staff for having a very disciplined defense that made great reads and were always in the right spot defensively.”

Maddy Dyer had 12 assists, five digs and one kill while Alissa Klopp had four kills and three digs. Makayla Disselkoen had seven blocks and five kills. Carlee Bowen had nine digs.

“Makayla Disselkoen had a good night for us,” Birr said. “She continues to improve in the middle, especially with running different offensive plays. Carlee Bowen had a few very impressive digs that helped us keep rallies.”

Reeths-Puffer (10-20, 1-7) will travel to Jenison at 6 p.m. Thursday for its next match.
