SPRING LAKE – Oakridge senior Peyton Ruel led the pack and won the Mel Hal Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Spring Lake High School.
Ruel completed the course in 16:50.38, just ahead of two Detroit Country Day runners who finished second and third.
Country Day won a tight race for the team title with 66 points. Buchanan had 67 and Western Michigan Christian had 72.
