NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores volleyball team took down No. 6 state-ranked Jenison in an OK-Green, four-set thriller on Tuesday.

The Sailors started slow and dropped the first set, but pulled together to edge out Jenison the rest of the way, 9-25, 25-19, 31-29, 38-36.

The Sailors’ Grace Allen led the offense with 24 kills, while Maddie Russell added 14 kills and 15 digs. Laynie Russell chipped in 13 kills and five blocks, while Elena Reister contributed 52 assists and 18 digs. Izzy Sturtevant had a team-high 20 digs.

Mona Shores (27-6, 5-3) will take a short trip to Muskegon on Thursday for conference action.
