HOLLAND – The visiting Hudsonville Eagles put it on the Panthers early and cruised to a 47-15 victory over Holland West Ottawa.
Hudsonville scored the game’s first six touchdowns.
Hudsonville did its damage on the ground, rushing 42 times for 229 yards, and added 96 yards through the air on six catches.
West Ottawa got 128 of its 241 yards of offense in the air. Makai Campos went 12-for-32 for 128 yards, a TD, and an interception. Campose hit Dylan Vruggink four times, including a 3-yard TD pass. Connor Knapp caught a game-high six passes for 79 yards and Kayden Forbes rushed 20 times for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Tai Hescott had eight tackles to lead the Panther defense. Jake Gerrits stepped up with 6.5 tackles, Griffin Dobb had 5.5 and CJ Taylor added five tackles for West Ottawa.
