Fremont advances in Division 2 districts with four-game victory over Newaygo

FREMONT – The Fremont volleyball team shook off a first-set loss to top Newaygo, 19-25, 25-7, 25-17, 25-18, in the Division 2 district semifinals on Wednesday night.

The Packers’ Mia Clemence led the way with 15 kills, four aces and 24 digs. Averi Zimmer had 11 kills, while Brynna Barnhart added four kills, 35 assists and 15 digs. Grace Evans scored three aces and had 12 digs. Also, Hallie Snyder tallied three aces.

Fremont will host Grant on Thursday for a shot at the district title. Grant defeated Sparta in the other semifinal match.
