BROOKLYN – The Fremont Packer boys captured a top 10 finish in Saturday’s Division 2 cross country state finals.

Fremont finished with 308 points, good for ninth place, and was led by a 40th-place finish by Blake Taylor. The top area finisher was Fruitport’s Vincent Pollock, who finished 25th in 15:44.9.

Allendale won the state championship with 78 points, far ahead of runner-up Forest Hills Eastern (180) and East Grand Rapids (200).

Freeland’s TJ Hansen, a senior, won the race with a time of 14:50.5.
