Fremont hoists Division 2 volleyball district trophy after defeating Grant

FREMONT – The Fremont volleyball team cruised to the regional tournament with a win against Grant on Thursday night.

The Packers rolled to a 25-14, 25-6, 25-19 victory in the championship round of the Division 2 district tournament.

Mia Clemence led the Packers with 11 kills, two aces and 22 digs. Averi Zimmer had seven kills and tallied two aces, while Taylor DeKuiper added five kills and two blocks. Brynna Barnhart scored six aces and made 26 assists. Grace Evans chipped in two aces and 20 digs. Taylor Johnson threw in 10 digs on defense.

Fremont will travel to Forest Hills Eastern at 5 p.m. Tuesday for the first round of regional action against St. Johns.
