Fruitport’s strong play results in four-set volleyball victory, berth in regional title match

ADA – The Fruitport volleyball team moved one step closer to a Division 2 regional title with a strong four-set victory over Forest Hills Eastern on Tuesday.

The Trojans advanced with a 25-14, 22-25, 25-18, 25-18 victory over the host FHE.

The Trojans’ Sadie Haase led the way with 17 kills, four aces and seven digs. Ellie Stroup added 10 kills, one ace and 11 digs. Izabel Hanson-Wilbur chipped in seven kills, one ace and 12 digs, while Emma Fecher scored four aces and had five digs.

Graelynn Olson had two kills, one ace, 34 assists and 10 digs. Tara Sweet threw in one kill, three aces and 14 digs.

Fruitport (35-11) will face St. Johns in the regional final on Thursday at Forest Hills Eastern. St. Johns eliminated Fremont in the other regional semifinal match.
