BROOKLYN – The boys from Grand Haven captured eighth place in Saturday’s Division 1 cross country state finals.

The meet, which was run at Michigan International Speedway, featured a dominating performance by Northville, which won the team title with 99 points. Saline was second with 169 and Brighton was third with 193.

Grand Haven finished with 257 and was led by a strong fifth-place finish by Luka Hammond (15:19.9). Ben Eisnor was 13th and Aaron Gal was 19th.

Jenison’s Seth Connor broke the 15-minute mark with a 14:54.5 and won the individual title.
