BROOKLYN – Two area boys cross country teams finished among the top 10 at Saturday’s Division 3 state meet.
The Mason County Eastern Cardinal boys claimed sixth place with a score of 252. White Cloud came in ninth with 309.
Hillsdale Academy won the team title with 113 points, followed by Holland Calvary Christian with 153 and Maple City Glen Lake at 210.
Kalamazoo Hackett’s Marek Butkiewicz was the top finisher at 15:09.7.
Alex Tyndall from Mason Eastern was the area’s top finisher at 11th. His time was 16:20.7. White Cloud’s Coleson Cruzan was 12th in 16:21.0.

A pair of Mason County Eastern girls competed in the state cross country finals on Saturday.
Senior Lucy Shoup finished 56th with a time of 20:48.3. Sophomore Brailyn Johnson finished 139th with a time of 22:21.4.
