COOPERSVILLE – The Mona Shores volleyball team continued to move through the Division 1 district tournament with a three-set victory over Reeths-Puffer, 25-7, 25-17, 25-15, in the semifinal round on Wednesday.
Grace Allen led the Sailors’ offense with eight kills, followed by Elena Reister with six kills and 18 assists. Laynie Russell added six kills, two blocks and four digs. Maddie Russell had six kills and made three blocks.
Izzy Sturtevant was the Sailors’ leader on defense with 14 digs.
The Rockets’ Alissa Klopp had five kills, while Mady Snyder chipped in three kills, one ace and two digs. Maddy Dyer had one kill, 11 assists and six digs. Carlee Bowen scored an ace and had 11 digs.
Mona Shores (31-8) will be back at Coopersville on Thursday for the district final against Coopersville, which defeated Grand Haven and ended the Bucs’ 17-year streak of winning a district title.
Reeths-Puffer closed out the season, 12-23.
