RAVENNA – After a slow start in the first quarter, the Ravenna girls’ basketball team picked up the pace to take down White Cloud 34-18 in the opening night of play on Monday.

The Bulldogs trailed 6-5 after the first quarter, but went on to drop 17 points in the second quarter to gain momentum.

32 of the Bulldogs’ points came from inside the paint or at the free-throw line.

“Our rebounding was not where it needed to be tonight and it is something we are going to work on all season,” White Cloud coach Caleb Wilk said. “The good news is, this team will continue to get better as the season goes on.”

The Indians’ Andi Vincent led her team’s offense with nine points.

Ravenna (1-0) will be back at home on Friday to host Oakridge.

White Cloud (0-1) will travel to Shelby on Thursday.
