KENT CITY – Tanner Carlson hit a clutch 3-pointer in the late going and lifted Kent City to a 79-73 overtime victory over Central Montcalm.
Friday night’s game was played in the CSAA-White division.
The Eagles had control through the first three quarters of play as they led 33-24 by halftime and 51-45 at the end of the third quarter. However, Central Montcalm rallied and slashed the deficit to leave it tied at 63 at the end of regulation.
Aaron Vanderwest led the Eagles’ production with a double-double of 16 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals. Isaiah Stuhan added 16 points and a steal, while Mason Paterson added 12 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Carlson had 11 points, three rebounds and two steals. Andre Meade threw in eight points, five rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Justin Anderson scored eight points and pulled down four rebounds.
Kent City (3-3, 2-0) will be at the Cornerstone University Holiday Showcase on Thursday, January 2.
