MUSKEGON – The Hart girls’ basketball team tallied its eighth consecutive win with a 48-39 victory over Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday.

The Pirates led 11-8 after the first quarter and 25-20 by halftime.

The Rockets came out of the break and refocused to get a 29-28 lead midway through the third quarter. However, the Pirates didn’t let them have it long and fought back to lead 37-29 with a quarter left to play.

The Pirates locked down on defense and took care of the ball to seal the game.

Rilynn Porter led the Pirates with 16 points, three assists and a steal. Addi Hovey posted a double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Reese Smith chipped in seven points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal.

Also, Breslyn Porter grabbed six rebounds and made four assists.

Hart (11-1 overall, 6-0 WMC-Rivers) will be at North Muskegon on Thursday for league play.

Reeths-Puffer (5-9 overall, 3-2 OK-Green) travels to Caledonia for a conference game on Friday.
