LUDINGTON – Ludington’s boys basketball team rebounded from an overtime loss earlier in the week with a 67-39 West Michigan Conference Lakes Division win over visiting Orchard View Thursday night.
The Orioles established early control over the Cardinals with a 19-10 first quarter and then clamped down on defense in the second for a 17-7 advantage to build a 36-17 halftime cushion.
It was 55-29 after three quarters.
Cameron Gunsell led all scorers with 13 points for the Orioles, while Brody Kaminski scored 12 and Taj Williams added 11.
Yaseen Davis scored 11 points for the Cardinals, and Tyshawn Smith added nine.
Ludington improved its record to 7-4 overall and 6-1 in the WMC Lakes. The Orioles are back in action next Monday at home against Oakridge in another conference game.
Orchard View fell to 4-7 on the season and 2-3 in the WMC Lakes. The Cardinals travel to Wyoming Potter’s House for a non-conference game next Tuesday.
