REMUS – Payton Shoemaker had a strong outing in the circle and at the plate in Grant’s two CSAA-Red softball victories over Chippewa Hills on Monday.

The Tigers accumulated a total of 34 hits and 46 runs over the two games in a high-scoring affair. 

The Tigers won, 21-2 and 25-23.

Shoemaker gave up only one hit and struck out seven batters in the opening game.

On offense, Shoemaker went 3-for-3 with four runs and an RBI. Alexa Obenauf was 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, while Addison Herrmann went 3-for-3 with a run and four RBI. Ella Brummel added a pinch-hit double and an RBI.

Shoemaker allowed six hits and struck out nine batters in the nightcap.

Shoemaker went 4-for-6 with five runs and three RBI, while Obenauf was 3-for-6, one a double, with three runs and five RBI. Reese Gragg and Lill DeLosSantos each had a triple and scored three runs.

Grant takes a short trip to Newaygo on Wednesday for conference play.
