The Mona Shores Sailor’s hockey team opened up O-K Green Conference action on Wednesday night with a bang piling it on Caledonia and finishing with a 9-1 victory at home.

The Sailors bombarded the Scots’ net with Trent Benedict leading the way earning himself a hat trick and an assist in a strong performance.

Four other sailors found pay dirt adding to the barrage of goals. 

Zach Liebrandt and Ethan Ring each added a pair of goals while Landon and Nico Taylor each netted one.

Goaltender Nick Kelly picked up the win saving nine out of the ten shots taken on net.

Mona Shores improves to 2-0 and will face-off with rival Grand Haven on Friday November 26th at Lakeshore Sports Centre 5 p.m.
