Reeths-Puffer and North Muskegon split a nonconference baseball doubleheader on Tuesday with the Norsemen taking Game 1 7-4 and the Rockets winning the nightcap 14-1.

North Muskegon scored three runs in the third inning of the opener as runs scored on an RBI single by Brody Scott, a sacrifice fly by Ryan Compeau, and a walk by Chris Hillman.

The game’s last lead went to North Muskegon thanks to a fifth inning rally that saw four runs cross the plate on a two-run error and an RBI single by Travis Webster.

Riley Draper tossed two innings of shutout ball to earn the win for the Norse. Draper struck out three, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Two of the Rockets’ runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Parker Richardson with a pair of RBI-singles as he finished with three hits.

A 13-run first inning helped R-P gain the split in Game 2.

The Rockets scored in the first inning on an RBI single by Jake Balkema, an RBI single by Jacob Boes, an RBI single by Matt Hoover, an RBI single by Trevor Mosher, an RBI single by Collin Houseman, an RBI single by Parker Richardson, and a two-run double by Caleb Sheffer.

Caleb Sheffer finished with two extra-base hits for R-P.

Trevor Mosher allowed one hit and no earned runs, walking two and fanning five for R-P in Game 2.
