The loss, the Jayhawks’ first in 12 games, dropped them to 12-3 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Conference, one game behind Lansing CC.

The Stars led 58-48 at halftime, then took control with a 20-0 run midway through the second half.

“We didn’t have it tonight,” said MCC Coach Dave Schlump. “Give Lansing credit, they were the better team tonight. We couldn’t get anything going offensively and we allowed that frustration to affect our defense. We can’t let that happen. We will learn from this. We have to. This time of year you have to learn and move on.”

MCC was led by Eddie Tornes with 24 points and Aaron Sydnor with 17.

The Jayhawks, 21-5 overall, will host Lake Michigan College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
