West Michigan is now 14-16 in the second half and in fourth place of the Midwest League Eastern Division, 5 1/2 games whitecaps logo not for feature artbehind first-place South Bend.

In Wednesdays loss, West Michigan was led by Arvicent Perez with two hits, Rashad Brown added an RBI double, and Will Allen hit his third home run of the season.

On Thursday, West Michigan managed six hits, with two apiece by Perez and Brett Pirtle. Starting pitcher Eudis Idrogo performed well, allowing one run on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings on Thursday.

After the series finale in Fort Wayne on Friday, West Michigan will return home to open up a six-game home stand.
