Grand Haven junior Jackie Crow had a huge game on Friday, hitting three home runs to lead Grand Haven to a 9-4 victory over Spring Lake in the first game of the Battle of the Bridge rivalry doubleheader.

Crow’s three homers produced all nine of Grand Haven’s runs. Kaelyn Stafford added three hits for the Bucs while Madi Shumaker got the win on the mound.

Leah Vaughan and Ann Marie Galloway each had two hits for Spring Lake.

Spring Lake turned the tables in Game 2. The Lakers took the lead with four runs in the fourth inning and won 5-4. Vaughn had two hits and pitched the victory for Spring Lake. Molly Poole homered for the Lakers.

Crow hit her fourth home run of the day for Grand Haven. Anna McWatters added a two-run single.

Spring Lake set a new school record with its 32nd win of the season. The state-ranked Lakers only have four losses.

Despite the split, Grand Haven won the Battle of the Bridge plaque because it had a larger run differential in its victory.
