Muskegon Lumberjacks forward William Messa has committed to playing college hockey at Northeastern beginning with the 2013-14 season.
Messa, a Parkland, Fla. native, was drafted in the 17th round of the 2012 USHL Entry Draft.
The last three seasons, the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder played for Lawrence Academy in Massachusetts. In those three seasons, he had 62 points. He is 19 years old.
“Northeastern offers the best academics to help suit my needs and their gritty hockey style is what I enjoy playing the most,” Messa said. “The facilities were top notch and the coaches made me feel right at home. It will also be an honor to participate in the annual Beanpot Tournament with Harvard, Boston College, and Boston University.”
This season is Messa’s first season in the USHL.
