The Fruitport Calvary Christian girls basketball team clinched at least a share of the Alliance League title with a forfeit victory over West Michigan Lutheran on Friday.

The game will go into the books as a 1-0 victory for the Eagles.

Coach Brad Richards’ team is now 15-1 overall, 11-0 in the league. The nearest team behind the Eagles is three games back.

“They had injuries and I heard that at least two of their best players, including Are’ola Hunter, just transferred to Grand River Prep to be with their AAU friends,” Richards said.

Last week, the Eagles ended West Michigan Lutheran’s 51-game winning streak in league play with a convincing victory.
