The Western Michigan Christian Warriors took Game 1 and the  Shelby Tigers took Game 2 in a nonleague baseball twinbill on Friday.

The Warriors captured Game 1 in 11 innings, 8-6, and the Tigers came back to win the second game 6-3.

In the opener, Matt VanderPloeg pitched six innings and struck out three. Eric Bourdo came on to pitch five scoreless innings and picked up the victory in the first game. He struck out one and allowed two hits.

Christian Brower singled home Logan Waller for the winning run. Bailey Heykoop plated an insurance by knocking in Henry DeKam. Waller finished with three hits and scored two runs. DeKam also had two hits. WMC finished with 12 hits.

In the second game, the Warriors’ bats went cold with just five hits. Bourdo, DeKam and Heykoop each had an RBI for WMC.
