Spring Lake overcame a first quarter deficit to earn a playoff spot with a 36-26 win over Ludington on Friday night in a Lakes 8 Conference game.

The Lakers trailed 6-0 after one quarter, but scored 29 points in the second and third quarters to pull away.

Chase Slagboom scored on a 95-yard kickoff return and caught an 8-yard TD pass from Mark Williamson to lead the Lakers.

Charlie Weber hauled in a 32-yard TD pass from Williamson and Williamson added an 80-yard TD run of his own for SL.

Jake Frederick added a 9-yard scoring run for the Lakers.

Taylor Follrath scored on a 9-yard run and caught a 33-yard TD pass from Chad Large to lead Ludington.

Large also rushed for a 9-yard score for the Orioles.

Williamson finished with 16 carries for 261 yards for the Lakers and Fredrick rushed 21 times for 127 yards.

Jake Kaczynski led the SL defense with 12 tackles and Remington Rohrer added nine.

Large was 14-of-22 passing for 277 yards to lead Ludington and Follrath caught four passes for 131 yards.
