Reeths-Puffer earned a 61-56 OK Black Conference win over visitng Holland on Tuesday night.

The Rockets led 10-6 after one quarter and 26-23 at halftime.

Joey Olsen hit six 3-point shots, including a four-point play late in the game that sealed the win for R-P.

Jalen Cooley added 16 points and DeAngelo Williams had six assists for the Rockets.

“We kept telling the kids to keep playing hard and eventually the shots will fall,” Reeths-Puffer coach Dave Ingles said.
“We had a 10 point lead early in the 4th but the Holland pressure quickly erased that. They actually had the ball up by two points with 3:50 to go. In our timeout we said we would stay in our zone until 2:30. At that point if they were holding it we would jump to man defense. Well, they held it and we stood there for 1:30. With 2:25 left we went man and got a stop. That changed the game.”
“I know some of the crowd didn’t understand why we would let them hold it so long but we thought shortening the game at that point wasn’t a bad decision. By doing that we didnt have to get as many stops against a very explosive team.  Fortunately for us it worked.”
