The Reeths-Puffer Rockets traveled to Grand Rapids to face the winless Union Red Hawks on Friday in hopes of breaking a three-game losing streak.

Mission accomplished.

The Rockets scored early and often and left Union in their dust, driving home with a 42-6 O-K Black Conference victory.

R-P (3-3 overall, 2-1 in the conference) got two first quarter touchdown runs from Dereko Riley from 8 and 19 yards, respectively

In the second quarter, Evan McCrary and Jordan Cooley each had one-yard touchdown runs for the Rockets, while Union got on the board with a 35 yard touchdown reception.

The scoring in the third quarter was limited to a Jalen Cooley 22 yard touchdown run.

Jalen Cooley completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Burch in the fourth quarter to finish the scoring.

The Rockets totaled 226 yards rushing on 49 carries and held Union to 64 yards on 19 carries. Jalen Cooley completed four of six passes for 56 yards and one touchdown.

Reeths-Puffer will host Mona Shores next Friday, and will probably need a victory to keep its playoff hopes alive.
