The Holton softball team won bragging rights from neighboring rival LSJ Logo incertHesperia Friday with a 2-0 and 13-2 doubleheader sweep.

The Red Devils improved to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in Central State Activities Association play.

Rachel Younts picked up the win in game one, pitching seven innings while scattering two hits and striking out seven. Jacki Stone had two hits, Shelbey Younts hit a double and Katie Wildfong knocked in a run.

Claire Rumsey doubled for Hesperia.

Rachel Younts pitched her second win in the nightcap, giving up three hits while striking out nine. She did not walk a batter in either game. She also contributed at the plate with three RBIs in Game 2.

Mara Schmitz had two of the Panther’s hits.
