Colon’s 24 points proper Hart past N. Muskegon; Mason County, Shelby and Oakridge win

The Hart girls basketball team used a 13-5 third quarter advantage to defeat North Muskegon 55-45 in the West Michigan Conference opener for both teams on Friday night.LSJ Logo incert

The Pirates were led by Yasmine Colon with 24 points while Baylee Draper added 14 points and 22 rebounds.

Olivia Duncan led the Norse with 20 points and nine steals while Christyn Pek added 19 points and 11 rebounds.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 64, RAVENNA 35 –  Ravenna (1-1) was led by Megan Crowley and Jessica McWatters, who had 12 points each, while Madi Broton added seven points, six assists and seven steals.

SHELBY 45, MONTAGUE 29 Jenny Beckman led the Tigers (1-1, 1-0) with 19 points while Tori Mussell added nine points. The Wildcats (1-1, 0-1) were led by Emma Flagsted with 10 points.

OAKRIDGE 56, WHTEHALL 30 – The Eagles (1-1, 1-0) were led by Hannah Reinhold and Brandy Weaver with 14 points apiece.  The Vikings (0-2, 0-1), who lost the ball 24 times on steals, were paced by Melissa Shoup with 13 points.
