The Muskegon Community College women’s soccer team kept its second place standing and earned a third consecutive trip to the postseason Region 12 tournament with a 1-0 win over Lake Michigan College on Sunday.
Emily Winicki scored her 13th goal of the season in the 78th minute to seal the victory.
Jenna Janke earned the shutout in goal behind a solid defensive effort by Lauren Jones, Hannah Jones and Becca Bride.
MCC is now 7-5-1 overall on the season and 4-4 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association standings.
The Jayhawks close out the regular season next weekend by hosting league-leading Schoolcraft College on Saturday before traveling to Ancilla College on Sunday.
