The North Muskegon girls tennis team took first place at the Portland Invitational on Saturday with a total of 19 points.

The Norse finished ahead of Portlant with 16 points, Whitehall with nine points and Almont with four points.

Flight champions for the Norse were Claire McCall (2nd singles), Noa Bowen (3rd singles) and the team of Belles Hardman and Lily Montgomery (1st doubles).

Flight runners-up for the Norse were Alicia Hall (1st singles), Lindsay Bliss (4th singles), the team of Carina Steketee and Sarah Muzzy (2nd doubles), the team of Gabby Gaston and Greta Goszkowicz (3rd doubles) and the team of Lindsey Piper and Liz McNally (4th doubles).

Lily Groessl of Whithall finished runner-up in third singles.

SPRING LAKE TAKES THIRD AT ZEELAND EAST TRIPLE DUO – The Spring Lake girls tennis team finished with 13 points on Saturday in their season debut.

Finishing runners-up in their flights for the Lakers were Jensen Hussey (1st singles), the team of Adeline Sherman and Rachel Oostindie (1st doubles), the team of Erin Burke and Zoe Walters (2nd doubles), the team of Taylor Gates and Erika McSheehy (3rd doubles) and the team of Abbi Perkins and Mahli Braak (4th doubles).
