The Ludington girls basketball team opened district play with a 45-32 victory over Big Rapids on Monday.

The Orioles scored seven points in the first quarter, 14 in the second, nine in the third frame and 15 in the final quarter.

Zoee Zatarga paced Ludington with 14 points while Mackenzie Howe added 10.

The Orioles will face Cadillac on Wednesday in the Division 2 district semifinals at Benzie Central.
