The Muskegon Clippers won their second straight contest, defeating the Grand Lake Mariners 7-5 on Sunday in Celina Ohio.
The Clippers are now 2-1 on the season and will finish their road trip on Tuesday with a doubleheader against the Sandusky Ice Haulers. Game 1 is slated to start at 3:05 p.m. while Game 2 will start at 6:05 p.m.
Muskegon will return to Marsh Field on Wednesday to play the Jet Box Baseball Club.
The Clippers jumped out to a 4-0 lead, scoring two runs in both the first and third innings.
Grand Lake responded with five runs in the fifth to take a 5-4 lead before Muskegon countered with a run in the sixth to tie the game 5-5.
The Clippers added two more runs in the seventh to close out the scoring.
Tre Jones led the offense with three hits and two RBIs for the Clippers, while Noah Marcoux added two hits, which included a two-run home run.
Tyle Overaitis chipped in with two hits and an RBI.
Gabriel Nutter tossed the victory for the Clippers, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out five batters in four innings of relief.
Clippers starting pitcher Carsie Walker pitched five innings, allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out seven hitters.
