HAMILTON — Spring Lake’s girls basketball team battled Hamilton for the full 32 minutes of Tuesday night’s OK Conference Blue game on the road, but came up on the short end of a 52-48 score.

Despite a whopping 24-5 advantage in the turnover margin, the Lakers could not overcome a huge discrepancy in free throw shooting, where the Lakers were 10 of 16 while the Hawkeyes shot 21 of 32 for the game.

The Lakers were led by Ella Andree who scored 15 points and hauled down five rebounds. Meah Bajt tossed in 12 points, dished out three assists and picked off three steals.

Alexa Carter chipped in with 10 points and grabbed four rebounds while Jennifer Judge had nine points and four steals.

Spring Lake dropped to a 12-7 record overall and 8-5 in the OK Blue where the Lakers are in a second place tie. The Lakers are next scheduled to see action Friday at Grand Rapids West Catholic.
