MUSKEGON – Oakridge boys soccer played host to Shelby on Wednesday in a West Michigan Conference showdown that resulted in a 3-1 Eagles victory.

Scoring started early for Oakridge as they took a 1-0 advantage just four minutes into the game. Dallas Meyers scored that one on an assist from Arturo Romero-Serrano. The rest of the first half came and went with neither team finding the net again.

The Eagles extended their lead nearly halfway through the second half when Romero-Serrano converted on an assist from Ian Thompson.

Shelby found their first goal with six minutes left in the contest, but was immediately answered back with a Landon Meacher goal for Oakridge on a free kick.

Isaac Willard recorded eight saves in net for Oakridge in the win.

The Eagles moved to 5-4-1 overall with the win and are now 3-1-1 in the WMC. They will face Grant in a non-conference bout on Friday.

Shelby drops to 5-3-2 on the year and are now 2-2 in the WMC. The Tigers get another conference opponent on Friday when they host Orchard View.
