The Spring Lake Lakers earned a fourth-place finish in the Division 3 girls golf state finals over the weekend.

The Lakers shot a two-day total of 728. Grand Rapids Catholic was crowned the state champions with its two-day total of 673.  Williamston was second at 685. Whitehall finished seventh with a two-day total of 759 and Ludington was 10th with a 772. The Orioles improved their score from Day 1 to Day 2 by 36 shots and moved up four spots in the team standings.

Lauren Timpf from Macomb Lutheran North was the individual champion with a 74-67–141.

Spring Lake’s Zoe Dull finished second overall with a 64-75–149. Other Lake golfers included Evie McDonald (90-86–176), Casey Ireland (96-96–192) and Finlay Cousineau (107-104–211).

Whitehall was led by Grace McDowell (86-91–177). Ava Garcia finished at 92-91–183, Allie Van Antwerp at 103-91–194 and Ava’s younger sister, Morgan Garcia, at 101-104–205.

Emma McKinley from Ludington came in sixth place with a two-day score of 81-77–158. Sam Hanson (98-95–192), Kendal Waligorski (110-97–207) and Julia Reed (115-99–214) rounded out the Orioles scoring.

Grant’s Nadia Zerlaut shot 80-86–166 and finished 13th overall.

In Division 1, Grand Haven’s Maddie Schopf finished 41st with a 90-89–179.

In Division 2, Reeths-Puffer’s Paige Anderson shot an opening round 80 for 13th place. She shot a 68 on Saturday and improved 10 places to finish third in the competition.  Lauren Davis from Coopersville was the medalist with a 70-70–140.

In Division 4, Holton junior EmmaLee Fox finished in 63rd place with scores of 111-108–219.
