Cameron Martinez is planning to enter the transfer portal.

The news was shared per Jeremy Birmingham, a recruiting analyst and photographer who covers Ohio State football. Martinez is ready to enter his name into the transfer portal window, which opens on Monday.

The former all-stater for the Muskegon Big Reds and Michigan’s two-time Mr. Football, has two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.

Martinez played the nickel safety position on defense at Ohio State, but Brimingham announced on  X (formerly Twitter) that Martinez is open to playing either side of the ball, wherever he lands next. He was redshirted his junior year, this season, but also totes a special waiver after 2020’s Covid season.

At Ohio State, Martinez had two starts and totaled 36 tackles and an interception return for a touchdown.
