The Reeths-Puffer boys basketball team, led by Jaxson Whitaker and Travis Ambrose, bagged a 67-47 OK-Green win over Zeeland East on Tuesday.

The game was tied at 13-all after the first quarter, but the Rockets managed to inch ahead with a 29-25 lead at the half. The Rockets opened up in the third quarter with a 25-9 scoring advantage and never looked back.

“We came out in the third quarter and had great energy on both ends of the floor,” said Reeths-Puffer coach Nathan Aardema. “Stops on defense allowed us to get out in transition.”

Whitaker led the scoring with 19 points, including 12 in the third quarter, and added seven assists, four rebounds and three steals. Ambrose earned yet another double-double as he recorded 18 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks.

Marvin Moore chipped in eight points and a pair of steals. Antrel Jones had eight points, seven rebounds and two assists.

Reeths-Puffer (11-1, 5-0) will travel to Zeeland West on Friday for more league play.
