MANISTEE – Jaret Edmondson threw a masterful one-hitter in the opener in a 6-1 win and the Manistee baseball team held off Shelby in the nightcap for a 10-7 decision Friday.
 

The game, played at Manistee, was the West Michigan Conference opener.

While Edmondson was silencing the Tigers’ offense in the first game, the Mariners were collecting six hits with Eli Workman going 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and Keegan Shannon had a base hit with two RBI.

Both teams finished the nightcap with seven hits. Landin Sowa drove in four runs with his two hits while Mason Robinson scored two runs and had one RBI. Edmondson also had an RBI.

The undefeated Mariners (4-0, 2-0 WMC) are scheduled to travel to Orchard View for a WMC twinbill.
