TRAVERSE CITY – Brock Morningstar’s big bat was what Whitehall needed in its win over Spring Lake at Saturday’s Traverse City West Invite.

Morningstar had two hits with three RBI and had two runs in the Vikings’ 9-3 win over Spring Lake.

Whitehall had two big innings in the win, getting three runs in the third and four more in the fourth.

Ryne Christensen posted the win on the mound for Whitehall, he entered in the fourth inning and allowed two hits and struck out three. Christensen also helped himself out at the plate with two hits and two runs.

Isaac Van Amberg and Eli Winter had two hits and two RBI while Kyle Stratton posted a pair of hits and an RBI for Whitehall. Nate Betz finished with two hits in the win.

Whitehall opened Saturday with a 7-5 loss to Traverse City West.

Stratton had a hit and two runs, Christensen had a hit and an RBI, while Morningstar had one hit and a run. Winters and Van Amberg each chipped in a hit and an RBI.

Whitehall (9-6) will host Ludington on Tuesday for a doubleheader.
