MUSKEGON – The North Muskegon baseball team swept Orchard View in a West Michigan Conference doubleheader on Thursday.

The Norse won, 11-3 and 15-5.

In the opener, Oliver Fricke gave up a hit, a run and struck out five batters for the Norse, while Bronson Hurst gave up five hits, two runs and struck out two. Cameron Hurst allowed two hits and struck out two batters.

The Cardinals’ Noah Smith allowed 11 hits, eight runs and struck out six batters, while Emilio Villareal gave up two hits and two runs.

Ben Meyers had three hits, including a homer, two runs and two RBI. Logan Slimko added three hits—two doubles, a run and an RBI. Kylan Nielsen had three hits, one run and an RBI.

Villareal led the Cardinals at the plate with three hits and three runs. Chase Bundt threw in a hit and an RBI. Curtis Scott, Jaxon Tuttle and Smith had a hit apiece.

Nielsen gave up 11 hits, five runs and struck out four in the nightcap.

Zach Peterson allowed six hits, 10 runs and struck out a batter for the Cardinals, while Villareal gave up four hits and five runs.

Carter Mieler contributed two hits, three runs and four RBI, while Ace Anderson had two hits—one a double, two runs and an RBI. Bronson threw in two hits, two runs and three RBI. Bryce Colbert had two hits and scored two runs.

The Cardinals’ Scott had three hits, one run and two RBI. Villareal contributed two hits, two runs and an RBI. Peterson had two hits, one run and an RBI, while Stephon Oakes had a pair of hits. Smith had a hit and scored a run.

North Muskegon will compete at the Hamilton Invite on Saturday.

Orchard View will travel to East Kentwood on Saturday.
