DEWITT – The Mona Shores girls’ lacrosse team was 0-2-1 at the Dewitt Play Day on Saturday.

“Play day games are a great way to try new things, play different lines and get your younger players a lot of gameplay,” said Mona Shores coach Chip Vasquez. “We never shy away from good competition. It’s a great way to gauge your program.”

The Sailors tied White Lake Lakeland, 8-8. The losses came against host Dewitt, 13-5, and Grand Rapids Christian, 9-4.

Four JV players got varsity minutes for the Sailors.

“Molly Conrad, Morgan OsterHart, Molly Fett and Jillian Saxton stepped right in and played some good lacrosse,” said Vasquez. “There’s a learning curve, but their futures are bright.”

Mona Shores (6-9-1 overall, 4-4 OK-Green) will be at home on Monday to face Grand Rapids Christian.
